One of the most distressing thing about constant travelling is losing touch with friends, so it was wonderful to rediscover my old friend Stephen last time I returned to Sydney in November '96. This photo was taken at Balmain markets in '86!

Stephen has been designing, printing and making shirts for a long time. They used to be covered in weird and whacky things like spiders, cockroaches and Japanese "porno" manga.
